The display centre of IJSG located at its headquarters has been
playing an important role to create awareness and generate interest
regarding the world of jute and give the organisation an upright
image. A number of visitors consistently showing their keenness on
natural fibres like jute & kenaf and also products made from them
while visiting the display centre.
Various diversified and newly developed jute products have been
purchased mainly from IJSG Member Countries like India and
Bangladesh. Products were also purchased/collected from Bangladesh,
India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia Indonesia, Myanmar,
Vietnam, and other countries, small-scale entrepreneurs, different
mills, Associate Members of IJSG and R&D institutions. Some
important exhibits of previous collection are also placed in the
display centre.
To make the display centre more interesting with an aesthetic
appeal, a wide range of attractive and newly designed jute products
been placed as exhibits which include fabrics/made-ups/floor
coverings, hand and shopping bags/fancy bags, wall hangings,
tapestry, home textiles, gifts and novelties, fashion jewelleries,
foot wears, blankets, handicrafts, soft luggage’s, trolley,
automotive parts, apparels, paper products, composites, traditional
products like yarn, sacks, fibres of different grades etc. with
relevant information like usage of products, price and familiarity
with suppliers.
To make the display centre more purposeful, structural renovation
and improved arrangements with colourful shelves, lighting and
wooden works have also been made. Digital photos and multimedia
facilities for visual presentation are available in the display
centre as well. |
