Objectives:

Since time immemorial Bangladesh occupied a glorious position in jute and it was known as Golden Fibre of Bangladesh. Unfortunately, this glorious position has turned into a dubious status over the years. However, an opportunity has come to change the destiny and regain the status. Since, many developed countries like Canada, Britain and Australia are trying to discontinue plastic bags in favor of cloth and paper bags. This provides an excellent opportunity to promote jute bags as an eco-friendly and cheap commodity. Paper bags are hardly environmental friendly as they require trees to make paper, leading to deforestation. Only jute and cotton bags are eco-friendly as the do not lead to deforestation.

With that aim in view, Sonali Boyan Shilpo has emerged to market jute goods materials in U.K., Canada, Australia and other European countries and explore possibility to spread out and expand the market increase the demand and popularize the products.

No doubt, it is a commercial venture but nevertheless it will help address the poverty reduction issues as well since many manufactures will be involved and generate income ways and means for the poor who are jobless and purchasing ability is meager.

Hopefully, Sonali Boyan Shilpo as an Associate Member of the International Jute Study Group (IJSG) will fulfill its noble aspiration with the help and assistance of IJSG in achieving the goal and objectives near future.
